A sewer scope is an inspection of your home's main drain line both underneath the home and out towards the city connection via the use of a camera. We’ll insert a camera into your drain line and run as far as we can go to see if there are any issues (broken pipe, belly’s, offsets, obstructions, or outdated material etc).
It’s always good to check EVERY house, but we strongly recommend these be done in 4 instances:
1. New Construction: As clean-outs are often left uncovered and construction debris could enter the drain line.
2. Homes with previous foundation repair: Repairs to the foundation could have compromised the plumbing system under the home.
3. Homes with mature trees in the front yard: Mature trees have complex root systems that can damage drain lines which typically are located in the front yard.
4. Older Homes: Homes built before 1970 could have outdated materials such as cast iron. They may also have deteriorated materials due to age.
